Hyvää yötä, good night

Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh dears :) how r u?

Sometimes we gotta try a little harder, and this was one of those days.. Alhamdulillah. This evening has been better though, more peaceful. I wasn't gonna write but I was thinking about it and then wanted to come and check up on you and myself too.

...

I would like to make conscious choices as a consumer, but what comes to cosmetics, I often stumble. Just to be clear: I don't afford the brands I'd like to use, like all these natural cosmetics brands. I have to guard my pennies so I try to find affordable options. So far I haven't tried to make my own lotions, so I've had to buy them like most of us do.

Today I bought Ziaja face cream + night mask, and was happy about it until I read that they are dermatologically tested. I haven't noticed it before this in their other products I use.. so what am I gonna do now? Those who are not familiar with the term, it means a skin test, on animals like bunnies. They shave them, and break their skin with an abrasive paper, and then apply the product/ingredients on the skin. So this is causing a lot of pain to an animal who is already living in bad conditions. I know, I eat meat so I am not the best person to talk about animal suffering. But if I am able to make small changes, I should. It's been a long time since I was a vegetarian, but maybe I'm slowly changing my ways in sha Allah.

Anyways, that was a mistake, but now I don't know what could I use instead. I also found earlier this Nectar of Bio day cream, certified natural cosmetics, in my price range. But, it is a brand of Carrefour, which is supporting, by it's actions, the illegal Israeli settlements in Palestine. So definitely on the boycott list.

Well, mistake is a mistake, but now I will be more careful in the future. Do you have any suggestions which brands to use? I need to also take a look onto how to make these products myself in sha Allah.

But also, I found this tea who just wants to tell me good night, and has peppermint, chamomile and lavender. Alhamdulillah. Something good too. In sha Allah tomorrow will be easier. Remember that there might be a lot going on with anyone out there, so be easy on people.

Have a good night! Next time then,

Aisha
