Flu days

Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah dears :) how are you?

I felt a bit off yesterday and in the evening I started to feel flu-ish. Today I haven't been really feeling well.  I've taken some medicine and went for a walk too. I don't know, some say that you should sweat it out and yes I was sweating but I didn't feel any better at the least.. alhamdulillah. But weather has been beautiful today here in south Finland, around +15C and sunny. I still need to rest though.

I posted about the cloth challenge earlier.. I have still kept a list what I buy monthly, and mainly it's  clothes. I do not count cosmetics or necessities, like socks etc. Because I know I don't buy then excessively. My problem is clothes, even though mostly I have bought them second hand but the numbers are too much. In March I've bought 8 items, two of them new from the shop. One of them wasn't good but others were ok and nice. But if I count now all so far this year, I've bought 19 items this year. How? It's way too much, and I can't afford this.

It has been good to keep track so I have it written down, can't forget or beautify the numbers ;). I have an issue with my wardrobe though. This has been going on years! My size differs so I must buy always new clothes, also I get bored in some or they don't fit that well so I donate a lot. And then buy more. I want to have a good year round capsule wardrobe, and it's a good goal but I'm not sure of my methods..

The urge to get something new is real. How come it's so difficult to resist? One thing is adverts, they're everywhere in social media. But in the end this is the capitalism planted in us, to always desire to get more, new, bigger, better..

So I challenge myself, to keep up with the 5 new clothes per year -rule. And what comes to second hand shopping, I will keep it as something occasional and not even monthly in sha Allah.

Also we are moving soon in sha Allah, so it's better to clear the home in advance from unnecessary things. It does give me more joy than buying something new. It's like a hobby, unfortunately at this point I can't do it so often because there's not so much to get rid of anymore, minus the clothes situation.

But it's a freeing experience everytime. To let go of the materia. It can get you really hooked. Maybe that's why so many minimalist will end up very extreme. Each of their own, personally I try to take more easy and not so strict about minimalist or anything else. But I guess I tend to be a bit clingy, so letting go of things and what doesn't concern me feels relieving.

I actually feel like I could clean some of the closets now. Thank you for reading! I hope you have a good week :)
