Shea shine
Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah dears :) how are u doing?
Sad news never come to an end, so I will write something lighter, we need a balance. Not that it necessarily helps, but gives a small break in this messed up world.. I do hope you all are fine and well. I keep you in my duaas. ♥
Today I just stayed home all day. I did some chores, had a shower, made a simple leftover dinner ready, and then I've been just watching IT: Welcome to Derry. Oh, and our tortoise Suttis woke up yesterday! He's been very active and fine, alhamdulillah. Now I just try to get him to sleep at night.. he likes to sleep in our bedroom, mingled in the curtains or the always-so-comfortable corner, but it'd be better that he would sleep in his vivarium as it minimizes the accidents (in every way).
Anyways! Slowly going forward. I try to do something productive daily. But like I've said, it's a process, overall. My life I mean. Still making better choices and moving towards goals.
...
So I do these little chores. Today I finally was able to fill my lip balm tin. I had to double check, I have bought 100g of shea butter, don't remember when, but surely it has lasted long. I remember the time I used to use it on my hair after wash, and frankly I think it did work kinda well. I tend to have very dry hair, so moisturizing it is a must, but many natural products are a bit too heavy. Like coconut oil, I hardly ever use it anymore, even though it has various health benefits. I just use my beauty oil for face and hair, and this shea butter is mostly my trusted and very well working lip balm. :)
What's in my beauty oil then? Well, it's a mixture of almond oil, castor oil, carrot seed oil and rosemary essential oil. I use it on my face anytime I feel like I need extra care, like after exfoliating or just to give more vitamins for my skin. And I apply it on my scalp, to some problem areas I have. This oil has been working really well on both, skin and scalp, this is a mixture I have just put together according to my own needs. I'd like to add bakuchiol oil to the mix too. I also like to use organic oils, if possible.
But my hair and skin are a work in progress too. You know how these products change, and your needs change, your diet changes, your stress levels change.. I wish I had a beautiful, mark free skin, but I've learned to live with my pimples and scars, not to forget these little wrinkles I start to get. Accepting yourself looks good, 100%.
...
I do wish to write more, but I have still things to do so I gotta go. No worries, until next time,
Aisha
