It's here!
Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh dear readers :) we made it, it's 2026!
I have missed you and writing, I hardly could hold myself from posting so here I am now, first of January, and we have landed to a new year, alhamdulillah. I hope you are fine and well, and if you're not, I pray you will be ♥ The world hasn't stopped on the holidays, so we need to keep up with the good work, each as they are able.
This holiday time was good. I am happy that I've got to spend time with my husband, that we finally got some snow, and that I've found some more peace of mind and the feel of contentment. I am curious to see what this year will bring. I hope it's blessings, but realistically thinking, there will be tests too. I know I need to practice more patience, so let it be one of the words for my 2026. Patience, contentment, fun. Might change later hehe :)

We went to thrift shopping on the Boxing Day, and I found Salomon sneakers! These are not the latest model, but mostly these type of shoes are always +100e/150e as new so I was so glad to bump into these and bought them with 15e. Nice!
Other than that, I have been mostly home, just gone to market. Even yesterday we just relaxed at home and watched Netflix (which I cancelled, but it found it's way back! I hope this time I cancelled it the right way). And it's been nice. No hurry, no worry. I am still learning the art of letting things happen in their right time. And being merciful towards myself. It's kinda crazy how I have all the time in the world but I'm stressing so much. Well, it is crazy, it's one of my symptoms. But we can always learn, right? So now I happily wander around home wearing my baati and enjoy of every day. ♥

What comes to enjoying, I made a home made face mask :) Haven't made one of these in a long time. I feel like my skin care routine and diet are working pretty well. My skin is looking good. Just the cold weather makes it dry so I made a moisturizing and calming face mask, which will also work with acne prone skin.
I used:
- rose powder
- raspberry powder
- neem powder
- nettle powder
- spoonful of honey
- spoonful of green tea
And I mixed it all together, added it onto clean skin, and let it stay around 15 minutes. Then a shower and skincare routine and some makeup. Ah! I feel so glowing :D
Making homemade cosmetics is so fun. You can choose from so many ingredients. And use the ones that works for you. I have made mistakes too along the way, f.e. I've used too heavy products or too much clay masks ( and letting them dry on your skin before rinsing.. don't do that! It will dehydrate your skin so badly :( ). So note: if you are not sure about some ingredient, try it first onto a small area so you will make sure you are not allergic to it.
There's many ingredients that we even use in our daily lives that can double as skincare. Like honey, for example. It has antibacterial properties, and it will also help clear your skin. It leaves the skin soft.
Other ingredients I like to use which are easy to find are shea butter and almond oil. They are both very safe to use usually, and are packed with vitamin E. Almond oil is also a good carrier oil, which means you can mix other oils in it and make your own beauty oil. :)
Some people use avocado, natural yoghurt, banana, egg, coffee, cocoa powder, turmeric.. you don't necessarily have to use anything expensive or special. Just have fun and release your creativity. Careful with turmeric though, it might give you a yellow color if you are pale like me.
I like to experiment with oils. I have my own beauty oil mix, which changes as I try new ingredients. As the carrier oil I use almond oil. I also like to use castor oil, which is good for skin and hair, especially hair growth (and eyelashes and brows). Next time I make a little bottle, I wanna try bakuchi oil, which has anti-age properties and also is good for dry scalp. Rosemary and lavender give a beautiful scent and also have some good qualities, like antibacterial, calming and promoting hair growth.
And soon it's time to make some shampoo bars too. Yayy :) If you're looking for a new hobby, try making your own natural cosmetics! It's so fun :)

I'd love to hear from you dears :) Which would be your words for 2026? I really hope you are doing good. Thnx for all of your support :)
Now I take some social media time and relax on sofa. Then I warm up some leftovers for dinner, nothing fancy but a good meal. Tomorrow I have some things to do again in sha Allah. Take care,
Aisha
