A hundred years

Alhamdulillah, I'm ok and if I'm not, I will be, in sha Allah. New year feels good. Today I went for a walk and cleaned the house. The turtle is doing fine, he woke up and is very energetic. I bought him some kale and he loves it.

Do you ever feel like you are hundred years old?

I feel like I have lived through so many events and phases that sometimes I don't even believe everything has really happened to me.  I don't know where I took the energy and life to make everything happen. I guess when you really really want something, you will make it happen. This applies to relationships too.

Yeah, a lot of history. Alhamdulillah it's good to stop sometimes to think where I've been and also where I could have ended up to be. So I turned out just fine, maybe not like the standard, middle class with a mortgage and complaints about inconveniences ;)

I did read today about a lady who was living with her partner in a 35m2 home, same than us. She was talking about "square meter shame", as they were living in a smaller space than (middle class) similar couples usually do. But she was also proud of their way of life. Well, that's how we live too. I didn't even think I should be ashamed about it lol. Only thing I worry is do we have enough personal space, but a set of headphones works kinda well for now. We have talked about moving to a two room home, but also that we can stay here. The area is nice and we like it here so, in sha Allah, maybe if we start to expect a baby (make duaa) we will reconsider.. but yeah, he shares my thoughts on minimalism so we don't have too much stuff and for now the space is ok.

A hundred years ago this home would have housed the whole family, up to three generations. :)

I have been baking lately. Been making meat pies and chocolate chip cookies and made a batch of shampoo bars too :) alhamdulillah. I love the kitchen and sometimes the kitchen loves me back :) I'm also learning new recipes. Here's some pictures of what I've been doing:

 Assalamu aleikum everyone! 😊❤ How are you doing? It feels great to start over. Night time thoughts

 Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. How are you? I am stressing about some personal issues, so can't sleep. So, I'm making a cup of coffee, planning to stay up all night. And go market in the morning. I have the luxury to take a nap later, so staying up tonight is not a problem. This happens for me sometimes, I just have to stay awake all night. Night is good time for writing, as I feel a bit more creative. The vibe is different and the stimulation of outside world has shut down. ... What would I write then? I want to write about Palestine, I want to write about Sudan, Congo.. Afghanistan. Kashmir, Uighur muslims, Rohingya sisters and brothers.. Yemen, Syria. And more, that I know or don't, yet. The world is burning because of Western democracy, which means white supremacy and colonization. Certain countries supporting each other in this atrocity.
