 Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah everyone :) how's your weekend? Greetings from the sofa corner. Today it was -16 here in Helsinki, Finland, and I did what I had to do as a Finn: go for a nice, crisp walk in the forest. I love the cold, at least these temperatures. More than -20 degrees starts to be too much, hehe. The walk did good, alhamdulillah. Even hubby said that my face looks brighter :)  It feels good to just go out and enjoy my time. But I enjoy being at home too. We ate our dinner and then I baked some cookies with the ingredients I could find (cocoa cookies it is). Now the guys are sleeping, other in the bed and other in the curtains, and I made a nest in the corner of the sofa. ... I'm on my period. This time it came early, I didn't even have time to think of a pregnancy test. This is a big test for me. There's not much that I could do right now. Except keeping the hope up. It is difficult, like tests are, and this is really wearing me out. But it also remin...

I just hope you all are safe.  Monday we had a glimpse of sunshine, Tuesday I met a new friend, alhamdulillah, and today I did some grocery shopping. No work yet. Next month I will start in another anxiety tackling group, in sha Allah I will learn something new there. Days pass by steadily (but how it is still January??). I feel stronger sometimes, and sometimes I don't care. But I take it as positive growth. Not every battle is mine, or it's not the time for it.    ... I also got my makeup package today. From France 👒,  Avril cosmetics . I ordered mascara, refillable lip balm and a lip oil. I normally buy the mascara from some Finnish online shop, like  House of Organic , but the brown shade I'm using was sold out everywhere. Today I didn't have anything to do, minimal chores and stuff, so as it is snowing lightly, I headed for a small walk to enjoy the cold. Yes, I do enjoy the cold. I like how the frost bites your cheeks a bit, and can use the fluffiest puffer mittens without them being too hot. The snow makes everything beautiful and people seem more calm, just doing their thing. And it's nice to come back in and have a hot cup of tea.  ... I promised last time to bring out my winter wardrobe heroes, and here they are :)  1. Black college pants I don't work or study, so I hardly have to look presentable. So I basically live in these college pants. I bought them years years ago from the local supermarket, and they have stayed as new all these years. Now I'm in the kitchen, boiling some water for my tea, while my husband and our dinosaur are sleeping in the living room. So cute, ma sha Allah. I finished my chores, so I have free time now. :) ... Sunday evening I got terrible anxiety, like an anxiety attack. It was hard to breathe and my heart was beating hard, I felt dizzy and sick to my stomach. And it just didn't pass. I tried to relieve it as well as possible, but my usuals didn't work so well. Hot shower did though. And some sisters made duaa for me ♡ I did have a nurse's appointment the next day.. Before that, when I was leaving home, I told my husband that I'm so nervous that I'm about to faint and then we laughed about it, and that helped. I care about what's happening in the world. I don't have many solutions, all I'm doing is praying, boycotting, donating.  Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah all :) how's your week been so far? I'm fine, alhamdulillah. I went to market, lifted some weights, warmed up a dinner my husband cooked for us, and had lots of screen time.. But I defend myself by telling you that I do process things while I'm scrolling. Sorting out my brain.  Suttis was in a full dinosaur mode. In the picture he looks cute, little daddy long leg, but he actually was chasing my feet and biting me :( I had my wool socks on so he only got to bite the sock, not me. Sometimes he gets a bit aggressive, must be his age. I put him in the bedroom to calm down, and after dinner I found him sleeping in the corner. :) success! ... I gotta make another cup of tea. I like this peppermint, lavender and chamomile blend with honey, it does have a calming effect, nice for evening time. I like this me time I have in the evenings. Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah everyone :) how's your Friday been? It has been a good day for me. I posted few packages and went to the market. It's still cold, I do enjoy the weather alhamdulillah. We ate a simple dinner and now it's like all the regular evenings, the guys are sleeping in bedroom and I'm here.. feeling a bit lonely to be honest. ... I like to write myself visible. It's kinda crazy to think that I used to be part of this poetry collective, and I made music, lyrics and poems, and performed too. Looking back now, I was way too messed up to step on that platform fully. And well, then I reverted to islam so I left it all behind, wrote maybe few songs after that and that's it. So I guess it was not meant to be, and alhamdulillah for that too. Also I felt at a certain point that I was finally able to process and cope, and talk about my feelings and traumas, and it wasn't anymore so important to me to express all that through art. Kinda sad though...

I went for a little shopping spree, got some nice makeup and stuff and now I'm at home, having a cup of tea. I don't have much things to do, alhamdulillah, just some cooking. ... I got a Lumene longwear eyebrow definer, Catrice eyeshadow and kohl pen, a hand cream, hand soap, Mentos (it's on the boycott list! :( a mistake), and the coconut water my husband asked. I'm happy with these. The Lumene eyebrow pen is the best, it's softer than a pencil and still can make a defined look. I'm not very skilled in makeup, so this is easy to use and it looks pretty. I use the lightest shade, 01 Ash blonde.  Catrice is a bit new to me, I haven't tried any of their products. A quick look of their official site shows that they are cruelty free and vegan. Nice! I went to the market and picked my contact lenses around midday, and later in the afternoon I went to pick a package from Vinted :) We had a really nice dinner w/ hubby. Some chicken kebab in a tomato sauce with Ghanaian attiyeke. Yum! Now the day has turned to a regular evening. My loves sleep in the bedroom, other in the bed and other in the curtains. You know already to guess. :) ... I decided to be more active this year. I want to do things and live my life instead of being anxious and staying in the house. Of course it's not my decision like that, but I try to lower the doorstep by just going before I have time to think too much. And I practice this especially in the situations when I really wanna go. I have missed you and writing, I hardly could hold myself from posting so here I am now, first of January, and we have landed to a new year, alhamdulillah. I hope you are fine and well, and if you're not, I pray you will be ♥ The world hasn't stopped on the holidays, so we need to keep up with the good work, each as they are able.  This holiday time was good. I am happy that I've got to spend time with my husband, that we finally got some snow, and that I've found some more peace of mind and the feel of contentment. I am curious to see what this year will bring. I hope it's blessings, but realistically thinking, there will be tests too. I know I need to practice more patience, so let it be one of the words for my 2026. Patience, contentment, fun. Might change later hehe :)  ...
