Dinners and evenings

Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah all :) how are you doing?

We are moving soon in sha Allah. So today, after I came home from the group and we had dinner, I packed some more things again. I'm so excited :) Alhamdulillah. Today we also saw a short video of the building and apartments. We haven't actually seen the place in person because there was a renovation going on, everything has been renewed.

Life has been regular, not shmegular but nice and happy. We both do our things at the daytime, then spend time together in the early evenings, then we both take some own time again and come together again later. I'm taking now exercise as a routine, not daily but at least 2 times a week, preferably three. Then I have my appointments with nurse, injection or group. I have been living a more introverted life last months, I do talk with my friends regularly but don't meet them so often. That might change, and also sometimes it just goes like that. I have to say my nervous system has calmed so much, alhamdulillah. Maybe I just thrive better when I take some time in solitude and seek for solace in Allah swt. It's not personal, I love my friends and I'm open to new friendships, but simultaneously I just feel like life is simpler in small circles.

We have been having nice dinners w/ hubby. He's not a fan of Finnish cuisine, so as a compromise I've learnt to cook some of his favorite foods from his home country. But we are also making progress eating at least some Finnish dishes. Finnish kitchen wouldn't be anything without potatoes (well technically it would because potatoes were introduced in Finland in 1730's and became more common in 1760's, so of course there was a whole food culture before that), so, we have agreed that garlic cream potatoes, and fried potatoes or pyttipannu is ok (: Those are my favorites too. But nothing beats a well made, tasty brown gravy, which was the basis of my childhood home cooked meals. Grind beef gravy, sausage gravy.. yum. My favorite though used to be my mom's spaghetti bolognese, I still think it's so yummy. Favorites might still change, and right now I like Ghanaian tomato sauce with tuna and meat, paired with some spaghetti, and rice and beans topped with gari (kind of flour made from cassava). Also I like boiled plantain and yam with the same sauce (with eggs). It's nice to learn something new and I enjoy cooking, it kinda relaxes me. All these new ingredients and ways to cook makes cooking a good challenge :)
