My clothes are my thoughts

 Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh all :) how's your week going?

I'm fine, alhamdulillah. Just been upset about the racism scandal our government is serving. Today the representatives were supposed to get a penalty for their racist posts, but they only got a serious note, and that's it. The now former Miss Finland at least apologized and lost her crown. In my opinion the Basic Finns representatives should've also had to resign.

When racism is normalized like this, and when it comes straight from our government, it's very harmful as it send a message to our citizens and especially the kids and youth that this kind of behavior is something they just have to put up with. Or move away if you won't. I dunno, this has been going on for too long now. There has always been racism in Finland, but it has gotten wayyy out of hand in the past few years.

I have often said I am not good to articulate my thoughts about politics, I feel like a little Elina who just wants that everybody gets along. But it's actually so simple. Get along. Don't discriminate against each other. If you don't have anything good to say, keep quiet. And look into the mirror and fix yourself.

I want my blog to keep us in good mood, so I want to dive a bit into the world of style and clothing, my favorite subject. Note: today I chose again my "easy clothes", the ones I don't feel like I stand out, and which I can feel cosy in and warm enough. So I'm not always necessarily so stylish myself, sometimes I am and sometimes I'm more neutral. But anyways! Thats kinda what I wanna write about:

*Comfort wear*

Or cosy core, or however you want to call it. Something similar like comfort food. A treat, something that makes you feel warm and cosy. Something to enjoy. Maybe a candy colored bag, or a delicious plum shade knit. Soft materials, elasticated waistbands, jersey scarves. Similar to dopamine dressing, but instead of having the rush from the colors, comfort wear gives you easiness, warm and flowy feel. Enjoying colors too, your favorite ones. Making you feel comfortable.

What it looks like to me could be

* Oversized fit

* Abaya again ( I haven't used an abaya for a while now but want to get back to it)

->  Abaya with knit vest (easy and nice look)

* Dresses with wide leg pants

-> long tunics and dresses are so nice with pants and give a modest coverage with beautiful silhouette

* Linen pants at summer

* Teddy mittens (have to get this)

-> also a balaclava, ear muffs work too

* minimal shoes and accessories

-> slim shoes, gold rings, bangles

How would it look like to you? What comes to our own style, the best thing about it is that is it mirrors our personalities. I am often shy, so a full black armor feels good. Sometimes I feel bubbly and I want to wear my huge pink sweater. I am also a muslim, you will see that from what I wear instead of my body shape.

I've been stepping up with my boycott list. I've decided that I no longer support Zalando, as they are supporting Israel. Also I will buy H&M and Lindex clothing only second hand.

Brands that interest me right now are Kappahl and their kay/day -collection, Touche Prive and Flikka underwear. Also Finnish brand R-Collection is interesting, I have had their jacket and their sport socks last forever.

Probably next year I will continue shopping mainly on Vinted. My go to abaya shop is Al Akhawat, but right now I have enough abayas. I'll participate in the 5 clothes a year -challenge in 2026 in sha Allah, and I'm gonna take it serious. I will let myself to do some second hand shopping though, but I'm gonna reduce the amount from this year. Also I will write down all the prices so I know how much I use and how much I could save.

The most sustainable piece of clothing is which you already have and are using regularly. I have collected all kinds of pieces this year, so I will put my capsule wardrobe to test next year. I'm eager to see how this goes. Wish me luck! :)
