Makeup inventory
Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah dears :) how are u?
Alhamdulillah. Today I had one group to attend, it was really nice this time. Stretching and movement. Then I came home and showered, prayed and cooked, today I made some jollof rice and I feel I'm really learning it now :) maybe the rice was slightly overcooked but it was tasty! Then I went to market because I just had to have some dark chocolate, I've craved it since yesterday so I thought I've somehow earned it. A push present for pushing through these few days with the craving..?
Anyways. Today I'm continuing with more scatty chat about makeup so if you came for something else, this is your sign.. I don't know will this be the new normal or not, but I feel like with the news lately, I need something completely else to balance my brain.
...
So yes. I turned my makeup bag upside down and this is what I have. It was interesting to see, even thought it's not that much, but I wanted to know how much I actually have natural cosmetics and I was positively surprised. I've been doing makeup more just lately, I kinda just wanna look nice and presentable now when I'm married, and also I want to cover up my acne because it's just horrible.. don't have better word for it. I know it's not something to be ashamed of, and some days I can even like my pimples. But most of the time it just looks bad and I want to feel more confident so I cover up a bit. I'm still learning though, I don't want to wear heavy makeup on my skin so I just do a small cover up, testing different products.
So there's..
- makeup pouch, bought from Indiska years ago
- 'jewelry box', from a friend
- couple brushes
- Lumene eyebrow pencil 01 (this is the best, and the color is light enough)
- 2 Avril eyeliner pencils, white and bronze
- Benecos lip liner
- Avril brown mascara
- Sharpener
- Essence blush (yes this is the one!)
- Essence concealer
- Labello lip oil (do they still sell this? It has no mineral oil which is a +)
- Hijabi hack aka old lip balm tin, I put all hijab pins here when I'm traveling etc. easy to carry with)
I need a good lipstick or two, and some eyeshadow too. I've been thinking to make my own eyeshadow, or then I just try to find a good palette. I had one but the shades were not really good for me so I gave it away. I'm also looking for a jewelry box, I try to find it second hand because I want it to be more of a vintage style. It's a process :) but yeah, this is what I have and mostly use frequently too. It depends. If I'm just at home, I don't usually use concealer but I always like to do my brows and put some mascara. Personally I like just a little embodiment, I am so pale that heavy makeup looks strange on me. But I'd like to use more colorful eyeshadow and play with different shades. Work in progress it is. :)

Is green tea and dark chocolate equal to wine and cheese? Somehow it is, I don't know how but there's the same elements. I recently quit dairy, coffee and yes, the wine too I quit about 11 years ago so.. have to find other ways to pamper myself hhh.
Right now I'm loving life, alhamdulillah. I am very happy with everything. I know when I say this, I will come soon down from these cloud castles as we say in Finnish, but I want to just be happy out loud for a second. I never take it for granted, because I know how I've been through a lot in these 36 years of mine. For a brief moment, I want to bloom.
And if there's happiness, there's sadness too. That's how things are eager to balance in nature and in our daily lives too. Everything is simple but also yet so complicated at the same time. We have something, and yearn for something else. Or we want something we might never get. But Allah swt knows best.

I hope you all are doing well. I see you Singapore and Hong Kong! And Mexico and U.S.A. :) and other countries too. You are all very well welcome here :) You really inspire me to write more.
So until next time,
Aisha
