 Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh all :) how's everything?


Today we have a nice, crisp weather of snow and frost in Helsinki, -14 degrees. I went for a little shopping spree, got some nice makeup and stuff and now I'm at home, having a cup of tea. I don't have much things to do, alhamdulillah, just some cooking.

I got a Lumene longwear eyebrow definer, Catrice eyeshadow and kohl pen, a hand cream, hand soap, Mentos (it's on the boycott list! :( a mistake), and the coconut water my husband asked. I'm happy with these.

The Lumene eyebrow pen is the best, it's softer than a pencil and still can make a defined look. I'm not very skilled in makeup, so this is easy to use and it looks pretty. I use the lightest shade, 01 Ash blonde. 

Catrice is a bit new to me, I haven't tried any of their products. A quick look of their official site shows that they are cruelty free and vegan. Nice! I tried the kohl pencil in lavender, very pretty, and the gold eyeshadow is beautiful. Not the most pigmented, but good for everyday use, if you just want a bit of a sparkle. I tried to take a picture of my eye but it didn't make it to the blog, hehe. It's a beautiful combination though, lavender and gold. And subtle enough for me.

Suttis, the good old athlete, the never stopping menace, has calmed down. Alhamdulillah. He is so cute. He has started to just sleep next to us while we watch tv. Even now my husband is napping on the couch and Suttis is napping on the floor next to him, with his legs in a sploot. ♥ When he stretches his legs like that, it means he feels safe and relaxed. I love him so much, even if he's a bit of a trouble sometimes. He likes to follow me around the home while I do chores and cook, trying to get a bite of my toes. And generally he just likes to be included in things we do. :) Russian tortoises are in my knowledge the most social ones. And surely very active, so in the wintertime when he's restricted to stay in the house, I have to find ways to entertain him. But I'm happy also that he has calmed down and is relaxing more, it's better for him too to take it easy. He still walks around the house and checks everything is in it's place. :)

That's about it, alhamdulillah, it's an easier day. I did have some anxiety while going to the shop but nothing unbearable. I just go without thinking too much. A duaa will help too. Gotta enjoy this easier phase, it might get worse too, so as long as this good stage lasts I'm happy.

I've done mindfulness exercises every day, and focused a little more in this world and all that is going on currently. And right now I'm, once again, learning about the right balance.  ... Had a nice time

 Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh each and every one :) how has your weekend been? I'm happy, alhamdulillah, I've had a very nice weekend. Yesterday I was out at bit, had lovely time. Today I walked to a nearby shopping mall, to a halal market to be specific, and bought few things for today's dinner. I made a Finnish dish, meatballs with mashed potatoes and some boiled green beans. I'll share my meatball recipe below (sorry, no pictures.. but if you are used to cook, you will succeed with this recipe in sha Allah). ... Alhamdulillah. I'm listening an instrumental version of the Algerian song "Aicha" and enjoyed some green tea. I've upgraded my teas and occasional coffees by making them in a high, thick glass. Instant coffee looks like a latte, instantly, lol :) Tea also tastes more refreshing from a glass. Hmm. Living with less

 Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah dears :) how has your week started? I had today the group I'm attending, the movement and relaxation one. I didn't go last week, didn't feel like it at all so I decided to pass. But it was good to go there today, it is definitely relaxing and I learn something new every time about my anxiety, and my body too. I noticed today that now when I have been going to the gym, my body is able to relax better. I don't get anxiety from moving, it feels natural and good. I didn't think I'd see results already, both the gym and the group, so alhamdulillah I am happy to get stronger. For those who wonder that who has to practice relaxing, well yeah I know it sounds silly but I guess mostly us who have struggled with mental health and trauma, have to learn some basic skills later in life.
